Microsoft Certified Masters Certification Exam Retake Policy

Microsoft Certified Masters Certification Exam Retake Policy

There are two exams that each Microsoft Certified Masters (MCM) certification candidate must pass in order to earn their certification: the Knowledge Exam and the Qualification Lab Exam. Candidates are allowed to retake the Knowledge Exam and Qualification Lab Exam for each of the following MCM exams: MCM: Windows Server 2008 R2 Directory, MCM: Microsoft Exchange Server 2010, MCM: SharePoint Server 2010, MCM: Microsoft Lync Server 2010, and MCM: Microsoft SQL Server 2008. Each type of exam has its own retake policy.
Candidates can retake their Knowledge Exam a total of three times. After the first failed attempt, candidates have a mandatory 45 day waiting period, and after the second failed attempt, candidates have a mandatory 90 day waiting period. If a candidate does not pass the Microsoft MCM exam after the third try, they must retake the entire required training course in order to take the MCM exam an additional time.

After the first failed attempt, there is a three month waiting period, and after the second failed attempt, candidates must wait six months before taking the exam again.
Passing the Knowledge Exam is required before a candidate can take the corresponding Qualification Lab Exam. Though each of the Microsoft MCM Knowledge Exams and Qualification Lab Exams have required training sessions, many candidates find their chances of passing greatly increase when they use the optional TestsLive exam preparation.
